Monarch Butterfly takes off!

[monarch butterfly take off]

I was in the process of taking a flower pic when out of nowhere a bumble bee lands on it. I'm thinking this is great and take a couple of "bumble bee feeding on flower" shots. To my amazement a monarch swoops in and chases off the bee! So I then get some "monarch feeding on flower" shots.

This is a cool little photo, of the monarch taking off from the flower in question.
My only annoyance is I never clicked the shutter button when both butterfly and bee were on the flower.

Photograph taken Monday of the Easter '08 weekend with my Nikon D300 digital SLR.
Another cool butterfly photo.
No further pictures last week after the Green Gecko picture.
Was a bit crook. I'll see what I can do to make up for it this week.
:-)
Monarch butterfly photographed with a Nikon Nikkor VR lens.

This is a cool little "I was just walking along and ..." shot of a Monarch Butterfly.
Mostly I like this shot as its similar to those used as "examples" by Nikon in their VR Micro advertising.
It was actually taken with a Nikkor 18-200mm zoom VR. (... while at completely the wrong settings... remember just walking along... )
Probably proving nothing other than the Nikon VR is worth the money.

This is photographic picture number 10 from the Nikon D300 SLR.!
(so I'll stop counting now.)
Nice butterfly photograph.

Enjoy,
